Every week the students in Preschool 5 are joined with Grade 4 students to practice reading. Each child has a ‘special buddy’ who they read with one-to-one. This gives the preschool 5 students a unique opportunity to practice reading aloud to a buddy. They also have the opportunity to listen to their favourite storybooks being read aloud to them by the grade 4 students.

This is excellent exposure for the preschool 5 children to good fluency skills and to practice their comprehension strategies.

The students really enjoy this special time of the week. 🙂
